The Family Team is responsible for the spiritual growth of the church family and for the  development of  worship and fellowship.

Role of Team

Our role is to develop a church family which is continually growing in Christian faith through worship, teaching and integration of activities for the whole church family, to build up the fellowship through an active programme for all ages.

How we operate

Our team is made up of representatives from all church groups: Women’s Fellowship, Midweek Fellowship, Cradle Roll, Sunday School, Girls' Brigade, Scouts, Youth Fellowship, the organists and the Church stewards.

We meet regularly to share news and experiences, voice concerns and offer encouragement.  We also plan for future events within the life of the church, including worship, teaching, and social activities.

Activities have included outings such as a picnic and walk around the grounds of Calke Abbey followed by Sunday evening worship with the local congregation at Ticknall.

Plans are made for special services Easter, Christmas, Pentecost,  Harvest Festival and our annual remembrance service.

We regularly organise occasional Sunday lunches for those who live alone and for members of the Sunday School and their parents.

The following sections describe some of the aspects of the Church life which are the responsibility of the Family Team and the organisations that we represent

Worship
Morning and evening services every Sunday are led by the Minister or another Circuit Minister or Local Preacher.
There is a Family Service on the first Sunday of each month which is also often a parade service for the uniformed organisations. The Sacrament of Holy Communion is observed during morning or evening service about twice a month.  On the first Sunday of most months there is also a Communion Service at  8.30 am
Baptisms are normally celebrated during the Sunday morning service.
Please contact the Minister to arrange a Baptism.
The Sunday School holds their own sessions during the time of the Morning Worship.  There is also a Crèche available for babies and younger children.  During November each year a service of remembrance is held to remember, with their families and friends, those who have died during the previous year.
On most Wednesdays at     9.30am there is a time of prayer and meditation.

Housegroups
Various small groups meet during the week for Bible Study, prayer and discussion.  If you are interested in joining a group, please contact the Church Office and you will be put in touch with a group leader.
